[Man bangs on door and yells repeatedly for ex-fiancee.]
Kid: You know she’s at work, right?
Tate: Yeah, I just- I just forgot.
Kid: You gonna wait for her to get back?
Tate: She’s worth it, isn’t she?
Kid: Yeah, she is. But don’t worry, you’ll get her back.
Tate: What makes you so sure?
Kid: ‘Cause she loves you and you love her.
Tate: Yeah, I do.
Kid: I got to ride my bike today.
Tate: I see, you having fun?
Kid: Yeah.
Tate: I haven’t had fun in a long time.
Kid: Maybe you should get a bike.
Tate: Maybe I should.
Kid: Well, I’m gonna go ride my bike now.
Tate: Okay, I won’t hold you up.
Kid: Okay.. Bye.
Tate: Bye.
Kid: Oh wait, I almost forgot.
[Kid hugs Tate]
Kid: Thanks.
Tate: You’re welcome.
(c) Something Is Killing Tate
Today I saw Kevin, and we had a long talk (as usual) about many things (also usual).
He said two things I really liked:
“You can’t be his saviour.”
“Ohoho, you underestimate the power of sex greatly, Jen.”
“As Ray Porter watches Mirabelle walk away he feels a loss. How is it possible, he thinks, to miss a woman whom he kept at a distance so that when she was gone he would not miss her. Only then does he realize that wanting part of her and not all of her had hurt them both and how he cannot justify his actions except that… well… it was life. ”
